Days 239-245

Day 239
Sunflare at sunrise, through the hedge.

Day 240
What a smile this puts on my face . . . love weathervanes.

Day 241
I find it hard to resist picking up these lovelies . . .great fall decorations.

Day 242
Zack, aka Zackman, Mister Mister, Big Boy, Bubba.

Day 243
Two-tone chrysanthemums bring lovely fall colour.

Day 244
These red sunflowers have lasted so much longer than the standard yellow ones and produced multiple heads on a single stem, but this is finally the last of them.
For this year.

Day 245
"The Lord is my Shepherd."

Days 190-196

Day 190
Hot summer days find Zack stretched out under the ceiling fan.
He's a big boy now . . . turned 2 last week.

Day 191
Don't know the name of this rose but I would call it "Summer Sunset".

Day 192
I didn't see the little ladybug when I took this shot . . . love those little surprises.

Day 193
A day at the PNE (Pacific National Exhibition) in Vancouver.  This ride, called the Super Shot, climbs straight up for several hundred feet and then drops very rapidly back to within a few feet of the base.  Not for me, no thanks.

Day 194
Caught in traffic again . . . this time along River Road in Delta by my new place of employment.  Of course I had my camera and shot some lovely wildflowers.

Day 195
Sun going down . . . moon showing big and bright.

Day 196
While most of the hydrangeas are looking rather scraggly about now, this one is sporting some fresh blossoms.  So pretty.

Days 134-140

Day 134
I am just tickled with this shot because I have struggled so much with shooting yellow roses . . . I find it hard to get definition on individual petals but this one turned out nicely.

Day 135
"Are you sure this is not tuna day?"
Zack and Gracie think every day should be tuna day.

Day 136
Uprooted all of the tiger lilies from the beds last fall and put them in pots to make way for the tulips, and other spring bulbs.  As you can see they are thriving in their new location.

Day 137
This is the view from my window while seated at my computer desk.  I have had to pull the sheers over and hook them out of the way as Gracie has taken to reaching up really high with her front paws and swinging like a Cirque de Soleil artist.  Now I get to enjoy the flowers from inside and my curtains are safe from kitty claws.

Day 138
This basket of tomatoes on the vine will soon be turned into stewed tomatoes.  I like to keep a few tubs of them in the freezer to throw in my soups.

Day 139
The girls and I had quite the adventure trying to see this movie today.  We were all set up to see it at Guildford at 1:15 only to discover that showing was in 3D, which none of us enjoy.  We then went to Strawberry Hill only to find out that the 2 pm matinee didn't start until tomorrow and we would have to wait until 4:40 if we wanted to see it today.  So, very disappointed, we went to Starbucks and Chapters and soon were all cheery again.  By the time we were done at Chapters it was 4:00 and we decided dinner could wait . . . we would see the show.  This girl with the flaming locks (Merida) reminds me so much of my girl . . . Shannon's hair was big and long and all over the place, too and she has never been one to bow to tradition.  I love this photo because the reflection you see is Shannon and Merida's head is perfectly positioned at the top of Shannon's jacket.

Day 140
Garlic scapes . . . I had just discovered these curious curlicues atop my garlic plants and didn't know that they had their own name.  This morning, Amanda from Soule Mama blog had a post devoted to scapes and the ways you can serve them up.  I picked them and had one with my dinner.  Very cool!

Days 113-119

Day 113
Lovely rhododendrons shot while waiting for the light to turn green.

Day 114
Such a sweet chickadee  . . . perfect profile shot.

Day 115
Love the deep purple of this iris . . . it didn`t flower last year and I almost pulled it up.  So glad I gave it another chance.

Day 116
House sparrow takes a turn in the neighbours Scotch Pine tree.  It sits right up against the fence so I get a great view of all the birdies that stop to sit a spell.

Day 117
I cross a little bridge over the Serpentine River on the way to the senior`s home . . . it truly is serpentine in its meanderings through Surrey.

Day 118
The red peonies are opening up much quicker than the white and pink ones this year.
 So lovely.

Day 119
Zack and Gracie . . . ready to rumble as usual.  And they`re off . . .

Days 36-42

Day 36
Spent time at Bear Creek Park for my Urban Parks Photo Challenge.  I love to watch the ducks and have a hard time pulling away from them.  So cool the way the water swirls and ripples and reflects the green from the trees.

Day 37
Walking from darkness into the light.

Day 38
A gift from my girls . . . just need some soil and seeds.

Day 39
"I have a light, and it always shines, it shines in the day and it shines in the night.  When the dark days come, and the sun isn't bright, I will be shining, for I have a light.
My light is the LORD, Jesus by name, my light is the Spirit, who leads me to change,
My light is the Father, who gave up His own, My light is the hope I'll be with Him in a heavenly home."
~ Don Potter
Day 40
My what big eyes you have, Zack.

Day 41
Gracie was sticking pretty close to me today.

Day 42
I was making stewed tomatoes today and the vines are just so beautifully star-shaped.  I think I will dry them and maybe paint them.

Days 15-21

Day 15
Yesterday the first robin, today snowing like crazy . . . didn't last long though.

Day 16
Shannon and Ali's cat, Zack.  He calls me "Auntie-Grandma".

Day 17
Papery orange husks of the Chinese Lantern plant.
I finally made my lightbox and am loving it.
(Lightbox tutorial here)

Day 18
Spring is busting out all over.

Day 19
 A gift from a friend.

Day 20
Part of the nightly routine around here . . . treats to entice Gracie home from Auntie Shannon's.  Works every time.

Day 21
I had some errands to run and found this little fella in a tree in the parking lot by the Organic Grocer.  That's why I take my camera everywhere.
